And what gets me most, average median home price in Orlando FL (ha). This does help put into perspective Full Sail student debt. Private schools may not be the best decision if your worried about buying a home or having kids when your still young (late 20’s early 30’s). Hopefully cost of living (COL) will come down a bit so median income and COL even out.
April Update April 25th, 2009
It has been a couple months since my last post, but I’ve been keeping very busy. Im currently interning for www.FosterProductions.com as their Social Media / Internet Marketing intern. I work directly with Jennifer, the CEO and she is one of the best people I have ever worked with. Jennifer has a clear vision and is very specific about her company image. I believe in this whole heartedly. The more professional a company and/or person displays themselves as, the better reaction they will get from potential clients
I also have a few freelance clients as well who I’m trying to provide some web work/web solutions to. I’m actually about to run out for a client meeting as we speak!
I’ll write more about my social media endeavors in my next post.

Honestly. Go tweet yourself! Go, go on and sign up for an account at Twitter.com. I have found that it is one of the most influential tools for helping get better at web design is Twitter. While many people view it as a ’social networking website’ I think that it’s value is greatly different from that of Myspace or Facebook.
I remember when I first began using twitter. I installed Twitteriffic on my Iphone, and I added my girlfriend and one tutorial website. I think maybe two or three weeks passed where all I would do was scour the internet looking for new blogs to add to my twitter feed. Within those two weeks, I basically disregarded having Twitter on my phone. It makes sense- why look at your phone when you can just look up and ask your girlfriend how her day was? But somewhere around that third week to a month I must have been bored trying to kill time, and I opened Twitteriffic on my phone. It was like the messiah had gifted me with links to EVERY TUTORIAL I COULD EVER NEED!! I must have had about 25 people I was following by this point and I thought OMG this is fantastic, I need to drop what Im doing and go try out this new CSS trick, or download this limited freebie font!
This basically changed my life. (Maybe not my life per-say, but my daily routine had some changes.) Now every day when I wake up to look at my phone and check my email. Next I’ll hop on to view the latest tweets about design. Its a great way to get my gears turning in the morning. I have also habitually grown to stare at my feed the same as O C D people do random objects.

School loans January 30th, 2009
Let me start off by saying I love Full Sail. The teachers are great the labs are incredible, and the campus is just badass compared to other colleges. I’m just about to graduate and I had my exit interview- which makes sure I’m all set to leave. The process wasn’t too bad. They could use better signage, I did a few circles looking for the correct door. Before I get too carried away, back to the point. The price of the school is a little high. At almost 65k when I started (70k+ now) it’s very costly. After being on the campus and seeing the equipment it’s somewhat understandable, not to mention the life time auditing. I just can’t believe I spent close to 100k in under two years time. I do value the knowledge I have gained and the skills I now possess. It’s just difficult to accept an entry level job and know that six months down the road I’ll be paying the cost of a mortgage on just my school loan. The state of the economy is in a down slope and I’m just starting to wonder if I made the best decision. I hope the next few days raise my spirits, I could really use it.

Iphone testing January 14th, 2009
Seems like my theme is just about done. It took me about a week but I’ve finally got most of my theme coded. I still need to set up my twitted updates and add my portfolio projects… Oh and my resume! Lots to do and a couple more sites to finish by Monday. I hope I can start getting into after effects this weekend. Well I hope this iphone post works well and I don’t need to make too many changes.
